Parabeam® 3D Glass Fabric is a fabric woven out of a 100% E-glass yarn and consists of two decklayers bonded together by vertical piles in a sandwich structure. There piles are woven into the decklayers thus forming an integral sandwich structure.
When the Parabeam® is impregnated with a thermoset resin, the fabric absorbs the resin and due to the capillary forces of the piles, the fabric rises to the preset height. In this one-step process a lightweight and strong sandwich laminate is formed that offers excellent mechanical properties.
Parabeam® can be used for many applications in the composite industry while offering multiple advantages against traditional sandwich and solid laminates such as woods, foams, balsa, honeycombs and more. The 3D fabric is available in a thickness range from 3 – 22 mm and can be used with polyester, vinylester, epoxy as well as phenolic resins.
Benefits gained from using Parabeam for fiberglass panels and other applications:
- Excellent drapeability
- Speed up process
- Reduction of labour cost
- Reduction of weight
- No delamination
The composite material created with Parabeam® know no equals in the market. The unique properties of this fiberglass sandwich material make it the ideal solution wherever a lightweight and rigid structure is required without any of the labor-intensive production processes required before.
